| I dont know how many times a contest on Live Mansion had a start and end date ..then the contest starts , when it approaches the end date..they might push it back further...then when it does finally end ..we have to weeks or months for the winner....dont believe me..click the contest link and you will see contests that have ended , but no winner yet...contests for website help drive the traffic, but if you hold a contest , the results should be announced no later than a week after the contest ending....Who takes care of the contest section ?? Who is in charge around here ??? I demand a recount .. Like they say ..shape up or ship out...if you cant handle it, then pass it to someone that can .,..We the people are the ones who keep the site running, therefore we are the ones who should be happy with the site... |

Alright! Someone else thinks the same way!!! I have felt the very same way and have basically forgotten about this website! I won 2nd place in a BTTF video contest (where the winner went against the rules and still managed to win!) and still haven't received a confirmation, let alone my prize!!! The contest ended at the end of September!!! Livemansion! Wake up! It's November going onto December!!!!

I agree...I believe you should have one and the winner disqualified...A rule is a rule...Just like when the have an end date for a contest..then that is when it should end ...not 2 weeks ..A deadline is a deadline...this wouldnt cut it in the real world..someone needs fired ..and now isnt soon enough... I vote for someone new.. |

Thank you! I have been very patient since winning the 1st prize of $1000 in the Celebrity Impersonation 2 contest a month ago. I was ecstatic, and judging by the professional look of the site and the very talented people signed-up to it, I had no doubt that my prize would be taken care of. A month has passed and I am feeling pissed off as I have now sent 2 emails with no reply. Is it too much to ask for a simple message? |

Don't expect any messages back, about 3 of us in the Back to the Future contest sent at least 3 messages each, and none of us have gotten a response back. The people here could care less, and you're absolutely right....why can't they just send a little message with an explanation. It's the least they can do. I just say we boycott this place and show them we are the ones in charge, let's start a revolution!! Spread the word! |

I haven't been around to much lately, but I was one of the first to join this site over a year ago.
They are very busy, but you will get your money etc..Have faith ! I entered the Meegan, Sabrina, wasted, and Insane...I never won. I know people who have, and they have recieved their $ . Jonah is the one to email jsamuals. He will help you out-good guy! It may take a bit, and the winners may not be announced when they are supposed to be..but it will all happen, it is all good!

I understand that you are upset about the length of time after a contest ends to announce the winner. Please understand that there are a few things that happen once a contest ends that prohibit an instant announcement. First and foremost we are very careful about confirming that all votes cast in a contest are real and confirm membership of the contestants. This process is in the best interest of our members to make sure everything is done fairly.
We do reserve the right to extend contests as we see fit.

.......Well...after reading that ..I feel better....NOT ...it is false advertisement to have a contest and take so long for a winner or a payout...even the dvd giveaway..it costs what ..$20 for a movie ..and that cant even happen within a good acceptable time frame...but yet they still keep having them... I guess it will take an actor who is also a lawyer to win a prize and then not get his prize for a month or two and do a class action law suit.....then maybe someone will listen...
Hello people ..when you started this site ..it went from a little hobby to a business...so wake up and shut it down if you cant handle it or actually step up and take care of business..... |

I just checked again to make sure....but the Winner of the Back to the Future contest submitted a video of ??? 2 Minutes and 37 Seconds.....The rules were "Entries can be up to ninety (90) seconds in length"...just so you know where I got the quote from ..it is in the rules ..#4 ..see below..
4. How to Enter
During the Promotion Period, you are invited to submit a video that shows why you are the biggest Back to the Future fan (the “Entry”). Entries can be up to ninety (90) seconds in length and can contain no nudity or anything else the Sponsor deems inappropriate.
This is something that should not be tolorated as you/your company does so many checks and rechecks for the members best interest...then this member should not have won...dont get me wrong..it was a good video and I dont have anything against them ...as a matter of fact ..I didnt even enter the contest..so I have nothing to gain..I am simply saying ..you say Rules are Rules and the time frame of winners and payouts are due to checks and rechecks of certain things to assure the best interest of the LM members...I vote to disqualify the winner of the BTTF Contest...and a new winner from the second place section be chosen....Sorry if this offends the winner,..but Rules are Rules... |

I know can you guys keep me updated on this!? I couldn't believe how long it took to announce the back to the future contest and I got third place and still haven't heard anything!
Worse yet, I got third and I followed all the rules in regards to time and use of uncopyrighted images and music and people who used copyrighted images and music and went over time WON higher than me. Completely unfair. |

I still haven't gotten my BTTF stuff either. I've sent repeated emails as well and haven't gotten a response back. I've completely lost faith in the site, so dumb. I just want the prize I rightfully won! And then they go ahead and post the videos of everyone on their site, well, if I'm not going to get the prize they are obligated to give me (and even the fact that 1st place shouldn't have deserved 1st place), then they should at least take the page down of the videos and stop making it look like they gave everyone their prize and everyone's happy, cause that is DEFINITELY NOT the case.

Uh...Just so you know ..you have to have the traffic to the site for the Advertisers to be interested ....and people on the site is the traffic,....the Contests are a gimmick sure..just get people to join and to keep coming back ,..but if you have a lure to get the traffic , then you must uphold your contract with the rules/winners of the contests...otherwise what else do you have ....Hmmm another Myspace....or Youtube....

A contest that a friend was in ...and I'm sure many , many others were invited to the site by the contests....My invitation came from the Live Mansion Movie.... with that said...How many members did Live Mansion get just because of that contest ....I'm not the only one....therefore ...it generated traffic to the site ...then the advertisers were happy and then they are able to obtain more advertisers and make more money .....in the meantime forgetting what made the site "popular" in the beginning...."It's contests".....and the chance of winning ...a role in a movie, $1000, a DVD package, Back To The Future Prize pack...and the list goes on .....Live Mansion is a money making business that has forgotton what made them that money ...
All I'm saying is...give us what is due in a timely manner and you will continue to have your traffic and your advertisers/investors will remain as such..

Yeah ..like the Bobbi contest that ended in September 07 and the Planet Terror which ended in November 07....
7 months is way to long for an announcement of a winner of a contest...not to mention the delivery of the prize to the winner.....
Looks like the owners are doing something with the site , but not fast enough...how hard is it to spend a few dollars and send the prizes..or even pick a winner , then send their prize...??? I say we all band together and make a similar web site (but not too similar, we don't wanna get sued after all lol) and actually follow through on what we promise. hell, i have tons of Ideas for movies, we just come up with one and make it ourselves with everyones help. i've seen some similar websites. i go to Plotbot.com .

The funny thing is ..most of us were brought to this website because a friend or a friend of a friend was in a "contest" on this site for a role in the Live Mansion Movie...Now most of the traffic generated for the site was due to a "contest" , but yet the contests are now being ignorred...The site is being updated..almost daily , and still no winners announced for past contests..or prizes sent to winners who were actually announced,,,day after day and month after month...what does it take for someone to listen ......Class action lawsuit ...get real ..just say what you will do , then do what you say ........"WE DEMAND PROGRESS".... |

Recently I have been looking into legal advice regarding Livemansion and found that if the site is earning revenue in advertising then there is a case to be made. I will certainly be taking this site to a small claims court in the near future if things are not resolved.
I have recently claimed back near $1000 (£600) in credit card charges through a lot of toil and knockbacks and have no qualms of dealing with Livemansion.
I will do some more research and get a case together mid-April. If there are enough of us, we can get paid.
For now I will send a letter to the Financial Ombudsman. These guys are great.

I heard they are going to go ahead with a movie but they are making some changes in the cast. Well, one change anyway. Something about Keelen being "under-qualified" in certain important areas... I think they were talking about looks and talent. In any case, my friends in "the biz" tell me they do plan on making good on all debts, but I think things are going to be a LOT different around here. |

I heard they are going to go ahead with a movie but they are making some changes in the cast. Well, one change anyway. Something about Keelen being "under-qualified" in certain important areas... I think they were talking about looks and talent. In any case, my friends in "the biz" tell me they do plan on making good on all debts, but I think things are going to be a LOT different around here.

AlexHaney...as we do appreciate you trying to help out and start a new disscussion, this one must stay active until "new Management" has made good on old promises... Do you realize one person is owed $1000 cash ... not to mention BTF Ride Prize packs that dont exist anymore....

Live Mansion was built on dreams and a whole lot more... How many of you joined because you receievd an email to vote for someone on the LIVE MANSION MOVIE CONTEST.... I did .. and voted and stayed a member and it was a nice site that had alot of potential... then it went down hill.... now we as a whole community are starting back up the hill and we are almost there with the new ownership at hand.....your post offers a different road... Which I for one am not interested in, until after I reach the top with this one ...
Once Management makes good on old debts...to EVERYONE...(no man, woman or child left behind) then at that time we as a whole can thank the new management and I would never post on this discussion again...but at this time .. I still have not even seen updates to the website.. old contests are still listed and old news ,... not even an announcement on the front page stateing that their is a "New Management" in charge...!!!

sorry I had a random birthday moment earlier. I agree that the new managment should step up and pay up. I also joined becuase of someone wanting me to vote for them on a contest ( my myspace friend, that sean ryan dude...lol!) and decided to stay becuase I love acting and got excited when it seemed like a possibility that I could share it with both the world and others just like me. it's that hope that kept me coming back. |

Your frustrations are heard loud and clear guys. I too am owed a prize and worked very hard to get it. Also, understand that the new owners have absolutely no legal requirements to pay any of the contestants and none of the previous owners are even present anymore. Ckrush was a failure as was the LM movie project. You will never see "Live Mansion The Movie" come to fruition, the rights were not purchased with the site and no one really cares to make it. I know this for a fact.
What I am trying to make clear hear is that the few of us in this forum represent the entirety of it's active membership and at least two of us are only here to scout out the problems and see how this site can rise from the ashes and become active again.
Again, NOBODY here is obligated to give you or me or anyone else ANYTHING. However, in an effort to gain some accountability, the new, completely unrelated owners are discussing our prizes and the possibility of a completely new, unique film project using the LM community. They are also hiring new developers, content creators, etc so changes will come to the site.
I don't know how much more of a "wink wink nudge nudge" I can give you guys. I know in great detail who is owed what and why Scooby and I have supported your input on this page. I am COMPLETELY on your side about Ckrush and the failure to make good on their word, but that is over and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. Be smart, you want a thousand bucks from a company that doesn't owe you anything? Well they want your patronage and your enthusiasm for a website. If there is no future at livemansion.com in terms of traffic, there is no motivation for a chief financial officer to implement that directive. I mean, would you?

Owed by the old owners or the new owners is irrelevant...We are owed by Live Mansion. COM... therefore would not support or recommend this site to anyone until some steps are taken on our behalf... I liked the site when it was running smooth and improvements would make the site even better ... and it is/was unique... but the simple fact is ... traffic makes the site worth the investment ... more traffic , more money , more money more surplus to give away ...
I am all for new management/ownership... but to endorse this site which housed the old owners , I will have to see improvements and good faith gestures (paying old debts) first ...
How are we to believe that anyone of the new ownership has even visited this site.. Just go to the home page... it looks the same as it did 1 year ago... I see no change and as far as I am concerned can not and will not recommend the site until "CHANGE" happens... The contest payouts would be a plus, and expedite the rapid growth of the site again...
I have no doubt the site can be bigger than it once was and be the buzz on every film industry website, but it take us to do that ... and I am more than eager to help the new owners take this site as far as it can go... You know scratch their back and they will scratch ours... but the problem is we have a rash from the former owners and need our back scratched first ... then we all will turn around and hold up our end of the bargin...
I for one would (after payouts of course)email everyone I know ... from all websites I belong and shout from the highest mountain that Livemansion.com is back and they are better than ever .. and you must check out the site .. you would not regret it...
Here is a good example.. the person that emailed me to join this site in the beginning is on her way to fame.. I did a movie with them and now they are doing a web series with famous actors and crew members in charge ... and they just moved to California..so i am sure that they will be a main character on the big screen soon enough... but as for their audition on Livemansion.com... I'm sure they dont even mention the site anymore.. now after payouts are handled,... then I would contact my good friend and inform them that Livemansion is back and they should check it out again...and hopefully they are not above and beyond our little site ...

I admire your persistence Scooby but I must tell you with all due respect, you would make a terrible politician.
This is not The March of Dimes Foundation or even the US Government. There is no charity and there are no checks and balances. Scooby, you represent a very small demographic of people who are consistently using a product that they ardently disagree with.
You've made your point about "getting what we deserve" and no amount of pissing and moaning will make it happen faster. The issue is being addressed, I assure you.
In the meantime, some of us are trying to develop better concepts for the next generation of LMers and we could use your help (I'm speaking to everyone not just you Scooby). Help us out. Be a part of this new wave and post something constructive on my "Your Input Here" forum.
I won a prize too! In fact I was involved VERY heavily with all the winning actors and our campaigns for a year and a half. I know all of them personally and we have all worked together since on various projects in the entertainment biz. I have told them the same thing I have been telling you. Some listened, some are now cut out of all the projects because of their misguided anger and impatience.
The definition of insanity is repeating something consistently hoping for a different result. I've gotten a lot more out of live mansion than a couple of bucks and a role in a sure-to-be-campy limited release picture. Roll with the punches guys. I promise there's a much bigger pot of gold at the end of this rainbow...
Please be courteous to others Scooby. Don't be a martyr. Everyone appreciates what your trying to do, but it's actually working against us at this point. Don't commandeer the forums please. We all have a voice here. I PROMISE you mine is well heard amongst the new team here at LM, so lets chat constructively. Please. If you would read the whole 90 something replies,..you would notice that I and others have commented on new ideas for the future of LIVEMANSION.COM site, and its members.... not the shutdown or dismantle of said site... Kevin Smith ... I really like his older stuff .. I guess cause I was younger , but I plan to check out more of his recent films...
Judd Apatow ... i worked with him in Talladega Nights... he was great, but Will Ferrell was really incharge on that one.. so only got to get minor input from him... but was excellent feedback when he was in control...
Tim Burton ... I'm so, so on this one ... like the Batmans of course.. and wouldnt mind seeing his version of Alice in Wonderland
Quentin Tarantino ...something about him I just really like....I like when he is in his own movies as well... its like ..he only knows what vision he is looking for ...
Eli Roth* ... well the Hostel 1 was pretty good I thought .. and Hostel 2 wasnt to bad.. it was more like a revenge style movie... it seemed to concentrate more on the gore..

Either Kevin Smith or Quentin Tarantino. they both are awesome in their own ways.
When I'm coming up with Ideas in my head I usually cast someone in my head, then later it may change or not, depends on the character. I'm not one who's to much into big name actor/actress's I tend to notice people most others don't, at least not yet. :) I have a feeling that if I was a director I'd be one that likes to use some of the same actors and friends. lol.
I don't have a particular favorite gere, because I'm into movies in general. I just tend to prefer action, comedy and Horror. I'm particularly fond of Zombie flicks, but Have yet to see all of them.
I'm not sure if I would ever be just a straight up director for a long time, I think that I'd more than likely produce and act. when I was 14 I used to come up with ideas that I would STAR in but as I got older they became smaller parts.

I would love to work with Channing Tatum again... He is very down to earth and a very nice guy .. You can have real conversation with him... I would be alot like you .. I would have a group of friends that I would constantly cast or would want to work with on most of the films I did or were in ...
I wouldnt want to be a director...maybe Assistant Director... I have helped out in some of the movies I was in... like tell the director.. "hey wouldn't this work out better" or "a person would do this and not this normally" ... etc.
I am the same as well.. no set genre...but prefer Action, Comedy and Horror mostly.
I have never been completely satisfied by a movie.. The closest I got was I am Legend... but the middle was a little slow and the creatures were to fake.. I do love a good zombie movie,.. but for some reason it seems the zombie movies are falling out of the woodwork...they are everywhere from FIDO and Zombies Anonymous to Zombie Strippers... what ever happened to a good slow walking suspensful zombie..its like when they die they are pumped with steroids.. running and jusmping and learning....ahhhh...
Now I love a good Hero movie.. like Batman,Xmen Iron Man, etc.. ..even Hancock..or a war movie... but I dont like musicals or some remakes... sometimes the original is the only way it should be done... Like scarface... I would like to see a remake , but I dont think you could make it better than the original...It's just something about knowing whats going to happen before it does that I dont like...
I would love to have a major role or a supporting role to someone like Tatum,.. or my favorites like Reese Witherspoon, Mark Wahlberg, or George Clooney .... i have started liking Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt alot more lately for some reason... not sure why...
I have many many stories in my head... and you are right... no one really wants to tell them in fear of someone else stealing them and claiming as their own... there are many scammers out there that look for a quick buck...I would love to talk to a writer or director and pitch my ideas.. and maybe I could finally be satisfied by a film...
I would even like to create a low budget film like Napolean Dynamite.. and then make millions off my small investment .. or even Clerks.. or something like "A Christmas Story" ..why you say... becasue everyone I know when I say the name , they immediately say .."You'll shoot your eye out" or "a Red Ryder BB gun", and the Leg Lamp... I would love for something known and repeated by millions would have been my creation... |

I know what you mean. I've had a few idea's about my life in small towns. there's one I've had for a while for a surreal horror type movie that came from hanging out with my best friend on her large wooded property,in this small town Texas,that was both a former junk yard and indian Burial ground. there where plenty of great stories she used to tell me and incidents that happened to us. I've always had it in my head that if it was ever to be made ( I haven't quite got the whole thing done yet. lol) that it could be shot there as well. |

Splash! and Goodfellas being my favourite films for different reasons.
This is Spinal Tap being my all-time favourite comedy.
Livemansion could do a great contest where contestants could emulate their fave actors/directors in short clips and then have a vote off.... kinda like celeb impersonation but kudos for film homage as well. |

I bet you really had a great time on that Junkyard/Burial Ground... and I mean memories .. not like a carnival... lol.. I bet a book about your experiences would be better than a movie.. then a movie made from the book to where you are on set as the writer and available for accuracy ..
Livemansion should or could have a contest to Publish someones story ... but it would be difficult to tell the whole story .. so maybe people could vote on a summary or the plot ... and the winner would get published ... or something to copyright their full story/ book in their name .. then the winner could also get a chance to send their book/script to be read by their favorite Director... and that would be the contest ... not a guarantee of amovie deal.. Just a book and submittal to thier favorite person Director, Producer, actor etc...
Mole... I like your idea as well... maybe a different contest , but same idea... I am not good with the video camera myself.. editing and such gets me.. but I know what I want to see... so in my case .. I have alot of ideas, but if I had to put it in film I would prob. not be able to enter ... but in your case.. a good contest would be a reamke or your version of something from your favorite director , actor , etc... and the winner could get a meet and greet with that person ... and a chance to work with them .. in your case .. a Tom Cruise impersonation comes in handy....lol..Your contest could be videos voted on for the best one...but not just a straight vote... We want actual creative people to win.. not popularity votes... There should be about five different criteria .. You get points for every vote... Like 1 being low and up to 5 as being the best.
Entertainment 1-5
Accuracy 1-5
Plot 1-5
etc...like 5 catagories that can be voted on ... and the person with the most points total. wins... see if a person is a great film maker they can get a 5 for Quality or Accuracy ..but get a 1 for Plot ... and someone that gets a 3 for plot and 3 for accuracy .. are basically tied... its just the other catagories that would make up the difference in points... and if there are ties.. then you have a vote off.. one vote for the one you think was the best overall...and maybe Overall could have been a catagory....
Oh well Im just thinking out loud...

I liked the grindhouse.. wierd , but cool.. and in Tropic Thunder.. in the beginning ... mine would be like the Starship Troopers commercials..."would you like to know more ??? ".....lol |

not sure, for something like that it could be something smaller. like a high end digital video camera or video editing software, etc. something movie related. |
