The new '007' looks pretty typical: hot cars, imported woman and a budget around 230 million. 'Quantum of Solace,' which features Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric and Daniel Craig is being directed by Marc Forster, and opens November 7.

That Americans love their 'Weeds' is no big surprise. That America loves "Weeds" more than its prostitutes, serial-killers and period pieces...is. Yes, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Showtime's season 4 premiere of 'Weeds' set a record with 1.3 million altered viewers.
The ratings for the show have increased every year, sparking interest in other Showtime original series such as: Dexter, Californication, The Tudors, and the new UK show, "Secret Diary of a Call Girl."But what really draws people to the show are the taboos delved into--which has led to some organizations to call for broader censoring of the cable networks. Which proves my theory that anything show worth banning, is certainly a show worth watching.

"The Da Vinci Code" opened many doors in the world of speculation, but it's closed many, too. According to Variety, the Vatican has banned director Ron Howard's “Angels & Demons” from filming in it's churches.
The project, which stars Tom Hanks, requested permits to shoot at the Santa Maria del Popolo, but the Vatican officially declined. The following statement was made by [spokesman] Father Marco Fibbi: “We often provide our churches to productions whose purposes are compatible with religious sentiment, but not when the film pursues a type of fantasy that damages common religious sentiment, as in the case of ‘The Da Vinci Code.’"This shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone considering the fact "Da Vinci Code" made 730 million dollars off a totally unsubstantiated story and didn't even bother to share. Oh, the irony

In case you haven't noticed,"Less Than Zero" is much the hero... as of late. Yes, Robert Downey Jr. is livin' lada vida ocupado (busy). Now, according to a release made today, the 40-something actor is in negotiations to star in DreamWorks/Universal's "Cowboys & Aliens."
The comingsoon.net release describes "Cowboys & Aliens" as the following: "...a graphic novel written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley from an original idea by Rosenberg. The story centers on an Old West battle between the Apache and Western settlers, including a former Union Army gunslinger named Zeke Jackson (Downey), that is interrupted by a spaceship crashing into the prairie near Silver City, Ariz. The story draws a parallel between the American imperialist drive to conquer the "savage" Indians with its advanced technology and the aliens' assault on Earthlings, who must join together to survive the invaders' attack." However, before he starts work on the film, he will appear in the upcoming comedy "Tropic Thunder" in August, which will immediately be followed by "The Soloist." Indeed, Robert Downey will be a busy man these next few years. But look on the bright side, at least now he can afford the best lawyers making him officially above the law. Smoke it while you got it, JR

Marvel has a been toying with a list of names for "Captain America" & "Thor," and have decided that one of the roles (or possibly both) must be filled by an A-list actor. I couldn't agree more. Right now two names are being floated: Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. The only question now is: who would make a better Captain America? On one hand we have Leo, a fine actor with a skinny build and a boyish charm. While on the other hand, there's Pitt, who is an above average actor, with a more "heroic" build.
Either way, these are strong choices. And are far better than Matthew McConaughey.
According to the Latino Review neither actor has been made an offer, but that could happen soon. Especially if they want a 2009 release

Adding another big name to a cast that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor and Danny Glover, Amanda Peet has landed the female lead in Roland Emmerich's epic 2012.
The movie takes place in the current day, and is based on an apocalyptic world event, and the struggle to survive. Cusack plays a divorced limo-driving father, and Peet will play his ex.
The movie is being written and produced by Roland Emmerich, and is scheduled for a July 10, 2009 release

Here's some pretty good news for "Incredible Hulk" fans: according to moviehole, the dvd release will include up to 70 minutes of deleted scenes. And one of those deleted scenes include the Hulk meeting Captain America!
In the report, director Louis Letterier says: ''I’m not the kind of guy that likes to keep the stuff for myself...’m like, okay you student filmmakers, here’s what I did right and here’s what I did wrong and in some of the stuff, in the 70 minutes, there’s some great stuff and there’s some really horrible stuff, but you’ll see it all, you know?''
Sounds good to me. But who will play the Captain? Matthew McConaughey's name has been mentioned for the role. But I doubt we'll get a surprise cameo like that...especially if it's on dvd only
